Nex-Tech is hosting its 16^th Annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters on Friday, October 9, at the Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays. Nex-Tech's partnership with the KSBBBS program helps to support "Littles" who are matched with "Bigs" in Ellis, Norton, Russell and Trego Counties.

Nex-Tech is pleased to announce Jacob Lindenman, Landon Dinkel, and Adson Day as $1,500 recipients of the national WTA Advocates for Rural Broadband Foundation scholarship program. WTA awarded 14 scholarships totaling $20,000 recognizing academic achievement, integrity and commitment to education.

Nex-Tech is proud to announce its ten scholarship recipients for the Nex-Tech “Break the Rules” Scholarship. Each will receive a $1,000 award for excellence in demonstrating their passion and how that has led to their chosen career.

The FCC issued a news release March 13, 2020, announcing the appointment of Jimmy Todd to the FCC Working Group focused on Precision Agriculture. This appointment group works to review the connectivity and technology needs of precision agriculture in the United States. The organization working groups are broken up into four different sectors, Mapping and Analyzing Connectivity on Agricultural Lands, Examining Current and Future Connectivity Demand on Precision Agriculture, Encouraging Adoption of Precision Agriculture and Availability of High-Quality Jobs on Connected Farms and Accelerating Broadband Deployment on Unserved Agricultural Lands. Union Pacific Railroad celebrated 150 years of the transcontinental railroad at the end of 2019. Big Boy Number 4014 locomotive swept through Hays during its tour to celebrate the 150th Anniversary. As luck would have it, the chilly, snowy weather provided a real life “Polar Express” experience for those that made the trip to watch the locomotive chug along through town. A few members of the Nex-Tech marketing team captured the magical moment on video as well. The video was shared on the Nex-Tech Facebook page to allow others to see it and the video quickly gained its own steam. Nex-Tech's recording was viewed by nearly half a million people! It was also shared on Kansas news stations in Wichita and Kansas City. Soon requests to share the video began to come in from networks in China, Singapore, Good Morning America and more. Not too bad for a little engine that could!
